The absence of a father during the formative years of a child, especially a girl child, can affect how they live their entire life. It could be their physical absence or a father who is emotionally unavailable. The impact of such trauma is deep and affects the child in myriad ways which often goes unnoticed in the early years but shows up during adulthood.
In women, the trauma leaves an indelible mark on their emotional landscape, shaping not only their personalities but also influencing their life choices, romantic relationships, relationship with money, food, etc. It manifests itself as low self-esteem, poor boundaries, a feeling of unworthiness, scarcity mindset, fear of intimacy in relationships, fear of abandonment, trust issues and so many more symptoms and behaviors. It is not always easy to recognise these wounds and that's why most people don’t realize the cause of their behavior until they learn about it, or someone points it out to them.
This discussion is significant as its effects reverberate through generations, impacting not only the individual but also their families and communities. Through this webinar, we aim to shine a light and uncover the hidden impacts of paternal absence.
